Bangpu Recreation Center, or "Bangpu" for short, is a famous seaside resort on the Gulf of Thailand in Samut Prakan province, very close to Bangkok. Spanning 639 rai (approximately 239 acres), it's managed by the Army Quartermaster Department and boasts abundant mangrove forests, a beautiful coastline, and a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a day trip to enjoy the scenery. A highlight is watching migratory seagulls: During the winter months (approximately October-May), tens of thousands of seagulls from Siberia arrive to escape the cold. Feeding them is a fun activity (buy bird food from local shops).
Sukta Bridge: A concrete bridge over 500 meters long extending into the sea, a great spot for taking photos. Enjoy a stunning sunset in the evening.
Take a nature walk through the mangrove forest and observe over 200 species of birds year-round.
Sala Sukjai Restaurant (at the end of the pier) offers fresh seafood with a sea view.
Other activities include releasing crabs (as a merit-making act), cycling, and strolling along the beach.

No entrance fee. Free parking. Open daily from approximately 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (recommended to visit in the afternoon/evening to watch the sunset and seagulls). Getting there from Bangkok: Approximately 30-60 minutes by car via Sukhumvit Road (old route), kilometer 37-38, Bang Pu Mai Subdistrict, Mueang Samut Prakan District.
Public transport: Take the BTS to Bearing Station and then take a songthaew (shared taxi) or taxi.
